Alex Foster

Alex Foster is an illustrator from Margate, UK.

After studying a foundation year at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Alex went on to achieve a first class degree in illustration at Middlesex University.

Primarily a map illustrator, Alex also is a children’s illustrator and works on projects across other industries. This includes designing a clothing line with Hong Kong brand Lane Crawford, creating artwork for novels, Young Adult and children’s books, and maps for the Roald Dahl Literary Estate.

He’s exhibited work Internationally, and worked on projects with many clients including: Evening Standard, Penguin Random House, Air Canada, American Express, Airbnb, Flight Centre, Expedia, Anorak Magazine, English Heritage and more.

In 2015, Alex won a World Illustration Award from the Association of Illustrators, and in late 2018, Alex launched map print website Mapsy. In 2019, graphic and web designer Ed Povey of Place in Print joined Mapsy.
