HaJ

HaJ (pronounced "aj") is an Emmy nominated and award-winning writer who is also a producer, director, performer and the founder of Tickles.TV, a multi-media production company with over forty original comedic sketch videos distributed to over twenty million viewers since its founding.

HaJ’s original comedy screenplay, Angry Black Women that she co-created won 2017’s Just For Laughs “From Set to Screen” competition. The comedy screenplay was also a selection at Series Fest, The New York Television Festival, IFP Film Week and listed on HBO ‘Top 10 Projects to Watch’ list.

HaJ is the creator of the award-winning, one-woman, stage-show Funnel Cake Flowers & The Urban Chameleons, which debuted Off-Broadway and won her a ‘Best Writer’ award. This innovative live show has been featured in The New York Times, Essence Magazine, Rolling Out, Variety Magazine, and NPR; and lauded as “George C. Wolfe’s Colored Museum for Millennials." MadameNoire named HaJ one of the ‘Top 15 Tech & Branding Gurus’ for the interactive film, HERadventure she produced and co-created with film and television director Ayoka Chenzira (Netflix Trinkets, OWN Network Greenleaf & Queen Sugar, Alma’s Rainbow). One of HaJ’s first short stories aired on The CW Network (formally known as UPN) and earned her a 1995 Emmy nomination when she was fifteen years old. Since then, HaJ has created, written, produced, licensed, and directed projects for networks including BET, VH1, Disney, ABC, and CBS.

HaJ served as the Senior Producer for iOne Digital (Radio/ TV One) where she oversaw operations and creative development of the Pop Culture division. Currently, HaJ is in development on an original half hour comedy screenplay she sold to BET Networks with Pacific Electric (Ed Helm) producing inspired by her participation in one of first Black and Latin X tech incubators in Atlanta, GA.
